"I do not believe in evolution but I do believe in selective breeding."

Still same pointage. Silly unguessing masses.

It's not the same, actually. Selective breeding is an excellent explanation for vast species variation and even variation up to the family level (bison and cow, for example). It also makes sense to explain how you get a 100 million year old dog looking thing and a modern dog. Essentially, it's a part of evolution. On the other hand, it doesn't necessarily explain how one gets from marine invertebrate to modern dog (it can, but there are other ideas in evolution- for example, a massive jump caused by a survivable genetic mutation). To believe that selective breeding does occur but that repeated major genetic mutations don't isn't really a contradiction in terms.

You're on the newsgroup! Shouldn't you know how to play this game? Don't explain the quote, guess where it came from!

He can't help himself.
If he knows something, he has to tell you about it, he cannot possibly leave you ignorant.
Rather sweet of you, Josh.
