Almost all set

I'm all packed up for Israel, minus my laptop, which I'm not putting in my backpack until I leave. And I still have to gather some miqvah sources that I'm bringing with me.

Up until now it didn't really seem like I was really going. It was far away, my plans were still not 100% set, etc. As of now, I have a place to stay for the first few days before my dig, (and the days after my dig) but no Shabbat meals. I can go week by week for Shabbat, (and next week is actually semi-set) and I can even probably get an invite at Friday night services, but Saturday I'll be davening at Kedem, which is a small minyan, so I'm not sure if any of them are making meals that I could come to. I may post on weirdjews2 if I'm allowed to use the community to beg for meals... Oh well, marlowe1 can always delete it if I can't...

Usually I have a talent for getting meal/shabbat invites. Or I make my own meals. I've had enough time that I should have something by now. If only AG [the one who doesn't go to Penn anymore] were online so I could ask him...

I know. It's only Monday. At Penn I'd start worrying by now, but most people don't respond to invites until tuesday nights, and grads usuallt start inviting people on wednesday. People sometimes even ask on Friday afternoon for meals.

It feels like Tuesday or Wednesday. I must keep remembering that it's monday.

update on last entry

With the help of arctic_alpine and rivka_m I might have a place to eat, assuming this couple is in Jerusalem this Shabbat... So I think I'll hold off on the WJ2 post...

**edit: or not. Since I won't be able to get in touch with the couple until I get into Israel, which would be thursday. And there are so many Shabbats this summer. I'd like some security when I get there this weekend.
