When I started riding my bike in Philly and needed coffee for class, I developed a sport that I called "precision biking." It entailed putting my coffee cup (with a flat lid that stays mostly closed but can leak a little even before you fold it back to make the opening) in my bike basket, lodging it in between my books or knitting bag or whatever else went in there, and then biking down Spruce street from the Wawa to the Anthro museum without spilling said coffee all over my books/knitting bag/sweatshirt/whatever.

I found that I was quite good at it. I hardly ever spilled.

This morning I realized in class, much to my dismay, that I was hungry and was going to need something with calories. So I went to Starbucks and ordered a tall caramel frappuchino. Frappuchinos come in plastic cups that have a lid with a wide opening so that you can drink it with a large straw.

And then I needed to get to "section" ("recitation," translated from the Penn dialect into Modern Harvard). I could have walked my bike and my frappuchino over, but I decided to have a go at precision biking in Cambridge.

Here's the route.

I got to Divinity hall without spilling the frappuchino. And I didn't have to bike too slowly.

Thus I am a master of precision biking. Huzzah!
