...for people to be drunk. At least wait till Thursday night.

When I was walking home from North(odox) there were a bunch of people yelling really loudly. And right now there are people outside my window being pretty loud as well. I live next to a bar, so this is understandable. But still. Don't you people need to pass your classes?

How do you say "Could you read megillah for me, because I missed it and was at the great wall of China?" in Chinese?

I can do the Saturday night megillah just fine. Worst comes to worst I miss a megillah reading. I could read it for myself or something...

The flight there gets in on Friday afternoon. So I would fly early, and get to the Hotel on Thursday.

The flight home is Sunday, 6pm. No problem at all.

So really there's just Suzhou to Shanghai. (gah, it only links to their index. Click on "Asia" then "2007 trips" and then "classic China" and you'll see what I'm doing.) Maybe [livejournal.com profile] plus_c you could be on call and I'll make a very long distance phone call in case I get horribly lost...does that sound good to you?

It's a race, it's the Amazing Race...Ok, only one person would get that reference, because I had to remember that there aren't actual lyrics in The Amazing Race's theme song.

But it totally is an Amazing Race. Do I get to meet Phil?

I went to the anthro museum library to see if they had any carrels left (I knew it wasn't very likely, but it was worth a try.)

Me: Do you have any carrels left that I could rent for the year?
Librarian: Are you a grad student?
Me: No...I'm writing a senior thesis, though
L: The carrels are only for grad students.
Me: In Van Pelt they let the undergrads have carrels.
L: There are only so many carrels, so these are only for grads.

Unlike [livejournal.com profile] cynara_linnaea a Van Pelt carrel won't be very useful to me. Most of my sources are in the museum. All of my classes are in the museum. I live in the museum. (See the exhibit on Homo floresiensis)

So I went to the office and asked Gerriane if there was a space I could keep my books. She thought, and said there's an undergrad work lounge, but people might take my books there. But there were lockers, which are only for grads, but maybe if there was an empty one...

So we went to James, who said there were tons of empty lockers, and that I could have one (though I need to get my own lock for it.)

I chose locker #18. :)

So now I have a place in the museum to keep books, and although I'll still have to bring them in and out of the museum library, I don't need to carry them all home. Huzzah!

And I don't need a carrel in terms of workspace, since I have my spot on the 2nd floor, in one of the comfy chairs next to the low table. I always work there.

*My guess is that you can't sing this, and it's not really a carol, but you've got to admit this was a witty title.
