I woke up this morning at 6:55. The AC had stopped working, but it wasn't too bad. And I had went to bed at 10, so I was ready to start my day.

I couldn't find some of my yarn that I'm using in one of my projects, but I just found it now.

I made myself a breakfast of pasta at 8:30 and left the apartment at 9:30 and headed to the library. When I got there I looked up Ronny Reich's article in the Journal of Jewish Studies on miqva'ot and hot baths. I found it easily and copied it- it was only 6 pages which fit on 3 pieces of paper. The article was short, direct and easy to read.

Then I went to the museum library to scan in my top plan and basket list. I had to finish writing up my field trips and couldn't remember the name of the place that had the bar Kochba caves. Turns out it was on the Safi blog (after I looked a billion other places I found it.) It's called Khirbet Midras. So then I sent in everything to Yigal, and now I can get credit.

After wasting way too much time reading blogs and talking to people on IM, I left the library, taking out 2 books that I need to read.

And I found Janet Monge! She was with Paige, who had her baby 4 months ago. I got to hang out with everyone for a while because SAS webmail was down and no one could do any work (this is what happens when we depend on e-mail.) Then I left.

I went to Hillel to see if I had gotten my DSL yet. Nope. But I did see Barry, and there are plenty of mashing shifts open. I'll make a bit of money working before school starts.

And webmail was working again, and the e-mails were finally coming in. And one was from Ben, who said he could meet next Friday so we can talk about grad school.

I still have to make cookies for [livejournal.com profile] alanscottevil for shabbat. Right now I'm eating my deli-roll, since I haven't eaten since breakfast! I tend to do this to myself a lot- spend lots of time in the anthro museum and starve. I really need to get into the habit of bringing along food...

So that's it. No embarrassing moments. No evil people. No explosions. No fires. It's kinda scary. Or maybe it's encouraging. Maybe this is an end to all the insanity that has been happening lately. Maybe this is the time in my life where everything can go right.

And don't worry. You'll have that 1000th post soon.

You all have been waiting patiently (at least I’d like to think so) for my 1000th post. So here it is. The “write a message to everyone on your friends list and don’t tell anyone which message is theirs” meme. You may be saying to yourself “She’s doing a meme for her 1000th post?” Well, it’s a meme that is taking me forever, since there are so many of you. I tried limiting it a bit- I’m doing my “friend of” list, which is slightly shorter, and anyone who has more than 1 lj is only getting one message. Still this is taking forever.

And hey, there’s something for everyone. A little reward for putting up with however many of these 1000 posts you’ve read (no one can see them all but me, though…)

(And by the way, I had to go back and look at everyone's LJs to write this. I learned a lot. You all are a cool bunch of people.)

Guess all you’d like. I’m probably not answering. Some are obvious. Many are not.

messages for all! )

And while I'm at it, a shiny meme:

That's it. Aren't you glad I had all this free time to devote to LJ?
