Fasting and other things

I now have a permanent mashgiaching shift- Tuesdays 4-6:15

Which is awesome, except for the fact that it meant the last 1 1/2 hours of my fast were in the kitchen, watching the staff make food.

I distracted myself with "The color of Magic," the first novel in Terry Prachett's diskworld series. He is a brilliant, brilliant man.

I started levana_b's scarf on Monday night. By the end of yesterday I was halfway done. Granted, I was using size 13 needles, but this is still pretty awesome. I've somehow gotten better at speed-knitting.

In other news, I told Ari Levine about my magical trevor kippah idea. He said it wasn't so new after my The Cheat kippah. I asked if he had any interest in one, and he said I didn't have to make him one. But I want to make one and I need someone to make it for! Gah! Why is he being so unhelpful? I suppose I could steal all of his other kippot so he would have to take the magical trevor one, but that would be mean and a bit of overkill.

I have to toivel the blades tomorrow in the schukyll on my way downtown. Yes, I will boil them afterwards. No, they won't be as shiny, but they'll be halachically acceptable for food-makingness.
