So I finally was going to be ahead on my readings. Only now it's futile. Responses for Spirit and Law readings are supposed to be mailed by 11pm the night before [aka tonight], and I haven't written one. We have to do them for 6 out of 12 classes, and this is already the 3rd class, and I haven't done one yet [though the 1st week doesn't count]. In theory I could just do it next week, but I don't want to get caught up in the high holidays and end up being screwed [like in The Amazing Race when you can only do a certain amount of Roadblocks, and if one person does a bunch, then their partner has to do all the rest. I don't want that to be me.]

Should I send it in 2 hours late [if I could write one in 20-30 minutes]? Should I give up and go to bed? Shoudl I do some of next week's readings and write a response for them now so I can have it done and just do them ahead for the next few weeks and relax for the rest of the semester?

It just made me feel so horrible about myself. It's only week 3, and I'm already behind. I can't do my work. And when I try, things like this happen. I shouldn't get upset, it's a stupid little thing. But I hate myself for things like this.

The title is what DRL stands for [DRL being the building on 33rd and walnut that has all the math classes plus a bunch of random things, that everyone hates because it's far away and looks like a bathroom]. I went there today on a mission- to find Julius Shaneson [Josh's dad, undergrad chair of math department] and see if I could stay by them for Rosh Hashana or perhaps the 1st days of sukkot.

It turns out that they hadn't returned my call [made a week and a half ago] because their plans are up in the air. If Rina can't come home from Barnard, they're going up to NYC [since Josh is in Israel anyways]. They're also still unsure about sukkot, though they're more likely to be around then.

So now I'm not sure whether I want to stick around. I'm thinking of asking Sunnie Epstein, because I didn't go to her for passover, and she's really cool. If it's not too late to ask, that is.

In other news, I am the proud owner of the remains of the chocolate swan, which is still a significant amount of chocolate.

I also found out that Professor Fishman prints out responses on Monday morning, so from now on if it's 12am Sunday night and I haven't written a response yet, I'm fine. I'll do next week's now. And we have no class next Monday! [so people can get away for Rosh Hashana.]

Julie is coming over soon, and we shall make pizza. Huzzah!
