Curling up into an archaeological ball
Jan. 3rd, 2006 11:30 amI thought talking to Professor Galor from Brown would help me narrow down my choice of a summer program.
Instead, all she could do was tell me about her program.
So now the list is:
Bar Ilan- tel safi [1.5 hours from Jerusalem, religious kibbutz, optional davening is provided]
UNC- Yotvata [3+ hours from Jerusalem, right near my cousins' kibbutz, though. kosher food, best ice cream in the country, I may be half of the shomer shabbat population there]
Hebrew U- Tel Dor [near Haifa, so maybe 2 hours from Jerusalem, but Tova lives in Haifa, and
yadfothgildloc will be doing the dig. And the accomodations are so cushy!]
Hebrew U also has one at tel-hazor
U Haifa- Hippos [near tiberias, staying at Ein Gev (an awesome youth hostile I stayed at on EIE) no work even friday morning, so shabbats in jerusalem would be quite doable]
Brown- apollonia [takes place the end of the summer, so visiting hungary on the way home wouldn't be so doable.]
Tel Dor, Hippos, and Yotvata seem to have the most interesting sites.
I'm never going to be able to figure this out!
