The LARP was amazing. And the food for it went over really well; everyone was impressed by it. It was even classier than the con suite, if such a thing is possible. And I got 200 LARP points from Warren, not useable in game.
[Insert vast amounts of spoilers here.]
This was definitely the most fun thing I've done in a while, though besides the 20 page paper this week has been pretty great. On Thursday (in the middle of paper writing) I went to Mt. Auburn cemetery (it is really beautiful there right now) with BH (HRSFA was invited, but the rest of HRSFA was being devoured fangoriously by a gelatinous homework assignment, so it was just us) and took a gazillion pictures. We walked for about 3 hours straight. And I came back to free kosher meat, since it was Yom Ha'aztma'ut (Israeli Independence Day). And then I papered. And I got together with some other people as well this week. So now there's just a 7-10 page paper, and some old German assignments that I missed and should probably make up.
I also have the house to myself for a whole week. It feels weird. I lived alone all of last year, so this isn't new, but it's still weird. I could play Katamari into the wee hours of night!
So I do regret missing Jews in the Woods a little, but this was such an amazing experience that I think it was worth it. Plus there was the whole 20 page paper, which really was handed in at the last possible moment. Hopefully I'll make the next JitW.
