Numbers

Today I met with Prof. Branham to discuss my paper topic (which she really likes) and the portfolio of response papers I handed in (She liked those, too, though she wants me to go more in-depth in the future, which I shall). So when I looked at it when I got home, there was a grade. An 88. Not bad at all.

Is it sad that I was really happy to get a grade with numbers in it? Beyond my Shaye Cohen mindterm this is the first Divinity School grade I've gotten with a number in it. Actually, come to think of it, besides that midterm I hadn't gotten any number grades since my Communities class first semester senior year, where I think there were numbers for the assignments.

Moral of the story: I like numbers. Such as pi. Happy pi day!

Ahhh, but it's an 88. 88 is the classic numeric grade- it's what you give to something that's not quite in the A range, or that's in the B/B+ range. It's just masquerading as a number; it's really a thought. Now, if it was an 87 or an 89, THEN you should be happy.

O:-)
