Leave it to me to not get anything done. I barely finished my German homework in time for class. I didn't do all the readings for my seminar. I spent a lot of time not doing work, or curling up in a hobbity ball. It's too early in the fall for the weather to be this grey. I wish it would be gray instead. At least that lets in a little sunlight. And the sunlamp isn't enough because as soon as I leave my room it's grey.

I need chocolate. And I need ice cream. We decided that if I got coffee ice cream, neither of my roommates would be interested in eating it and thus it would offer them no temptation. So I might go out and make that purchase if I can get up the energy.

Or I could go to bed early. Tomorrow's a new day, I have nothing due for this specific class tomorrow, and I can spend the rest of the day on campus doing work and have ice cream for lunch.

I need to get homework parties going. I actually can get work done at homework parties, unlike some people (you know who you are). This is why it's hard living so out of the way. I can't just go over someone's house at 10pm. Transportation takes up a lot of time (mostly in waiting for it). Maybe I can have a homework party tomorrow.

what's your definition of grey vs. gray?

Grey is grey that is on a pure black to white greyscale. Gray has a bit of yellow mixed in. This comes from the fact that the letter 'e' is white and the letter 'a' is yellow in my synaesthetic mind.

Out of curiosity, because I know nearly nothing about synaestheticim(sp?), if a letter is white, does it show up on a white background? Also, does this mean that colored pens do not affect how you see letters because when you see letters they already have colors? This sounds neat, and I am sorry to be so ignorant about it.

White letters show up on a white background. I do see things as whatever they're written in, but the letters also have a quality of being whatever color they are in my mind. They're both at the same time. The more I focus, the more I can see the colors. It's really hard to explain.

And the noun is synaesthesia. (Add that to the list of words the spellcheck thinks are incorrectly spelled. And "cancelled" as well...)

And by the way, I'm leading shacharit next weekend. Huzzah! (And for 2.5 random questions- do you have a favorite pigmented color? [if so, what is it?] and do you have any fiber allergies?)

hooray for shacharit! too bad you're not coming this weekend - everyone is out of town, so we're barely going to make a minyan and right now i'm still 2 torah readers short.

no fiber allergies, and i don't know what a pigmented color is. i generally like purples, greens and blues, not usually pastels though. does this mean that i get to be the beneficiary of rachel-knitting!?! i'm also in the market to replace a beloved white kippah that i lost.
