This is in the same vein as my last post.
There's a Div School JSA (Jewish Student Association) potluck dinner tonight (6:30) that I was planning on attending. Besides the throat, I'm fine. But now I'm wondering whether or not I should go. I'd like to meet people, but if I'm supposed to be on complete vocal rest, it might not be such a good idea. I've also already acquired the plates and cups that I am supposed to bring.
Should I go?
*Edit* If I do go, I now have a sign:
Hi. I'm Rachel Adler
I lost my voice last night and am not speaking today in an effort to get in back before Yom Kippur. If you find my voice, let me know. Otherwise:
-I'm a 1st year MTS student
-I'm probably focusing on Religion in the Social Sciences. I'm studying religious archaeology, purity, and piety.
The easiest way to communicate with me would be to ask "yes" or "no" questions. Otherwise, I have a notepad. :)

Go for it!

Or you could make up sign language as you go along. (I've done this with friends sometimes. It's easier than it sounds, depending on what exactly you're trying to say).
And if you get tired of being interesting and sociable, you can sit back and poeple-watch with a completely clear conscience!
