There's an idea that I've been playing with. For anyone who is a fan of The Colbert Report and who watches the show on a regular basis, you all probably know that Stephen Colbert broke his wrist a few weeks ago. :( (He mentions it in pretty much every episode, so it's hard NOT to know about it...)

He's still in a cast as of now. And silly Rachel gets the silly idea in her hobbity head "why don't I knit him a nice cover for his cast?"

Oh Rachel, why do you have these ideas?

Clearly I don't have enough to knit with my craft show, and my charity knitting, and my Monge blanket, and the blanket I just started for Ben and Jenny.

My thoughts are that he has thousands of fans, if not millions, and by now someone else must have knitted him a cast cover. Right?

But my plan is to hand-spin the yarn on my wheel, thus making it more special.

I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to actually do this. If I want to, I had better knit it soon, since he'll hopefully be better in a few more weeks, if even that long. Maybe I should make him something that would be more practical in the long run, like a scarf. Then again, either someone else has done that already, or we're getting to the point of being stalkeriffic. Most people don't knit things for their favorite celebrities. But then again, this is the same Colbert who has had a Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor, a greyhound, and an airplane named after him. Giving him a hand-knit cast cover or scarf isn't so crazy in comparison.

What is wrong with me?

(Clearly this is evidence that I need to get a boyfriend already, so I can have someone to knit things for on a regular basis, so I'll stop toying with the idea of knitting things for celebrities and being borderline stalkeriffic. Though I'm only considering guys who can spell, so it might be a while until that happens.)
