On a scale of 1 to wearing a bikini outside in Antarctica, how bad of an idea is it to go on a bike ride (let's say for .5 to 1 hour) the afternoon before a fast day?

if you've got a lot of water with you, it might actually encourage you to hydrate more.
but i don't know your biking habits, so i can't be sure.

have an easy fast.

Hydrate well before/during/after riding. Also eat after you ride if there's time before the fasting begins.

umm... it really depends how active you are usually. If you usually go on an hour bike ride and your body is used to it, I'd say 1 or 2. If this is a last-ditch effort to get in shape, I'd say skinny dipping at the north pole (you can do that now... some guy dove in wearing a speedo to prove that global warming is happening).

easy fast :)

Yeah, ditto what [livejournal.com profile] spazerrific said. For me, it would be pretty easy, because I regularly ride my bike. For someone who's not a regular bike-rider, though, it would probably be a bad idea.
