Ow. I thought after my first bout of reverse peristalsis I would be ok. Except I was still hurting and my stomach was still doing somersaults. I tried eating oyster crackers, drinking water, taking TUMS (or rather, the CVS brand equivalent) and napping. And now I just threw up again. I thought there was nothing left in my stomach, but I guess I was wrong. I don't know what to try now.

So yeah, major ow. And I was supposed to have an Orthodontist appointment today, but I had to cancel. I doubt they would appreciate me being sick in their office.

Do you know about the BRAT diet? Bananas, Rice, Apples, and Toast. Best things for stomach upset. Nothing else until your stomach settles down. A doctor once told me water is the best thing for hydration in this case, but I've always found that to upset my stomach more. Nothing too sugary, though, because sugar prevents the fluids from being absorbed properly. If the problems move south, chicken-and-rice soup will keep you hydrated and stop up some of the...runniness. Yum.

Throwing up SUCKS. I feel for you, having done that many times during the beginning of last year. :(

Could it be something you ate?

Unfortunately I have no apples or bananas. And the rice and toast require some effort to make (I'm home alone for another 3 hours...)

Maybe if I can pull my strength together, I could make toast, but the idea of eating anything right now is not appealing.

It might have been something I ate. Yesterday my lunch consisted of smoothies, and there were a lot of acidic fruits. Do you think that could have done it?

Familial medical advice by me is that while nauseated, the best thing is soda or pinapple juice by the teaspoonfull, one teaspoon every few minutes, and to increase as you feel able to do so. Then build up to dry toast. The things mentioned by the previous poster sound like good next steps though...

If you can't keep water down, sucking on ice cubes sometimes works. (I suspect it's because you swallow the water a tiny amount at a time when it's reached body temperature. But that's entirely conjecture.)

Poor thing. Hope you feel better soon.
