Visiting day on the Tel

theyellowhobbitI forgot to blog about this earlier, but I have a fun story.
On Thursday, we were sitting under the trees at the base of the tel, having our breakfast, when a car drives up to us. Susan goes over and the car rolls down the window and the people in it start speaking Hebrew. "English?" Susan asks. But they don't speak English, and drive off. We think they were going to tell us not to make a mess. Meanwhile, this is where we eat every day...
Then, a few minutes later, a jogger comes by. He jogs up to us, takes one of our water cubes, drinks from it, spits out the water, pours more water on his head, says "todah" (thank you) and runs off. And we're all like "Dude, WTF? Did that just happen?"
I'm not that surprised. It's a very Israeli thing to do. I think Susan would have yelled at him, except she was too shocked to say anything.
