more on the death paper

I find myself doing more and more research, rather than actually writing the darn thing. The problem is that I'm having a very hard time deciding what angle I want to write from.

My topic, for those of you who don't know, is suicide in college students.

Unfortunately, most of the research is inconclusive. I'm wondering if I should talk about Penn's incompetence in the realm of stress reduction/providing an environment where people DON'T want to kill themselves. UMD has a class in stress reduction, where there's no homework, since homework would be stressful. I think Penn should always have free massages available, especially to seniors writing theses, and pre-meds, and grad students, and engineers...actually for everyone since everyone at this school is an overachiever, and we all get stressed out constantly.

Summer is always interesting, because I forget what it's like not to be completely stressed out all the time. And then all of a sudden my work is done. And this summer I'll have a job, but it shouldn't be too stressful.

Gah. I should write. No more articles. Just write, and work in the articles...

WPI Student Government actually has a program where at the end of each term when everyone is studying for finals we have free massages and food (the event is called Subs and Rubs). It actually works pretty well, although I could see how having a masseuse available daily could be financially infeasible.

Brandeis has an alternative health fair at the end of fall semester... there's a nutritionist, a massage therapist, an aroma therapist, and stuff like that... PERC (the drug/alcohol awareness thing that I'm a part of) does an interactive "how do you relax?" thing so that people can see that substances aren't the only way to relax.

Have you thought about talking to the counseling center? Obviously you can't get any definite examples, but they may be able to talk about stuff in general terms... just a thought

Well, the paper is due by Sunday at the latest, and they're nto open on the weekends... i have 17 articles, so I don't lack info. I lack writing ability.

:-\ Senioritis kicking in? I'm kinda having the same problem, but luckily the last paper that I have to write (I'm about halfway through at the moment) is for my pass/fail class that I currently have an A in, so I reaaaally don't care what I get on this paper... but it will be somewhat worthy of being handed in... just like... B- worthy O:-)

you should have seen it yesterday... he wasn't suspended then. It was all the same several lines of text, links, and pix from a white supremist person/group. It was kinda scary. He got to my journal, too.

I just went and deleted them all. Yeah. Not a fun way to come out of shabbat- checking your e-mail and seeing a gazillion comments on LJ, all evil hateful white supremacist spam. I mean how does the dude even know that I'm white? Technically, I don't think that Jewish and white are the same thing anyways...
