Harvard (Continued)
Mar. 16th, 2007 03:44 pmFamily reactions:
Dad was annoyed that I'm not getting financial aid, and said he would talk to Mom. But it's my money, so I can go.
Mom said that I don't need to worry, since I do have the money, and she didn't expect me to get financial aid.
Grandma was overjoyed, is in tears, and offered me $10,000 to help with the expense of the program.
When I was little, I knew I was smart. It was just a fact. And I always thought that when I went to college I would go to Harvard, because it's the best school and if you're smart, you get in.
Then I got into high school and realized there were many good schools and I didn't need to go to Harvard to get a good education. Thus I applied early to Penn and got in, and went down this archaeological path. And I don't regret my choice at all. I never even applied to Harvard and only briefly considered it Junior year.
And now I am, in fact, going to Havard. Divinity. But still very much Harvard.
Now I need to find housing! [I'll definitely need to have a roommate. But hopefully I can have a good experience. Living on my own is much easier, but I think I can live with people, so long as there's good communication. It would probably be better to be in a house with multiple people than having just one roommate.]
