Updates over a week
Jan. 18th, 2007 09:47 pmNow that I think about it, I never wrote about shabbat at AG's beyond losing the phone on Sunday.
Shabbat was amazing. A.G. made 2 amazing meals. And I got to see
nuqotw and
taylweaver and
alanscottevil (rather unexpectedly) and L.N. and I think that's it for people I knew. And I learned that I'm very bad at boggle, though there was one round where I managed to use an archaeological word. :)
Things have managed to calm down, as my Bar-Ilan transcript was finally sent (and thus I am not taking 6 classes), and I left the Koach Kallah planning committee. That takes away 2 stressors. I still have to do things like finish my Harvard application and write my thesis and Jewish studies paper, but life is never perfect.
The possum wool that GM and I ordered finally came last night, so I got it today. I'm going to use some to make myself a scarf, and I'm not sure what I'll do with the rest of it. Alas, it is not quite as soft as the alpaca. I'm still trying to decide whether I should use my shiny silk-wool blend stuff for the cabled scarf (same pattern I used for Ben) or if I should rip out the bit I have knitted and make clapotis instead. Clapotis would be prettier but the cabled scarf would be warmer and quicker. But I could use the possum for a cabled-scarf. Maybe I should go all-out and just turn the silk-wool into clapotis. It would be the most indulgent scarf ever, and I could wear it all year-round!
And today I visited Jenny in her office, which I do on occasion, and she inspired me to go to the gym, since she's good about it and I've been very, very bad about it.
moss_raven called me as I was on my way there, and now she's inspired me to diet again. I need to get into shape so I can be all energetic, and I need to lose weight so I can be happy with my body (if that's even possible). I've gained a good 15 lbs since this summer, and it scares me a lot. I've got to put a stop to it now.
I also need to get more sleep, so I have the energy to go to the gym. I'm not sure when I'll have time for it all!
