I finally got my grades last night.

Anthro Thesis: A
JWST Thesis: S (Satisfactory. Doesn't do anything to the GPA, and it counts as having completed the course, so it won't turn into an F.)
Historical Archaeology: A
Communities: A

Thus giving me a 4.0 this semester, and raising my GPA from a 3.57 to a 3.62!

It's still lower than I'd like it to be, but I think a 3.62 is respectable, and now that's the GPA I have for applying to grad schools.

It's funny. This semester was the one in which I got the highest grades overall, but it's also the semester I've done the least amount of work. Talk about a cushy major. Only in anthro can you have a class with little homework, one 3-6 page paper, and no tests, and have it be a 400 level class that just gives you an A. I think we all got As. Huzzah for Dr. S.

(Of course, no A+ for the anthro thesis, but I expected that.)

I think that you being a good human being is more important than grades. Of course, I had crappy grades in college so I'm biased :)

Depends on what it's important for. In something like dating, or maybe life overall, then I'd agree, but in terms of grad schools, they like good grades.

So that's what the 'S' stands for. You are far more informative than my program director.

Yeah. You can't stop the signal. :-p

By the way, how did you end up doing in monge-land? (you can e-mail me if you don't want to comment)
