A break from editing
Jan. 2nd, 2007 02:52 pmI've been at editing for the past hour or so, so I deserve a break. It's hard to get back to academic stuff. I'm home alone, so there are minimal distractions in theory, but there are still the temptations of the internet, TV, and knitting/crocheting.
I'm working on a project now that requires cotton yarn, and I have that old jingle stuck in my head: "the touch, the feel of cotton, the fabric of our lives..." (anyone remember that?) It's actually quite fun to work with. Bessity once made me a nice archaeological belt, which is still useable, though stretched out. I could theoretically make a new one, with loops for the patiche and the trowel, though I'm not sure if it would hod up to the weight of the tools. I need a real belt. Of course, thinking of archaeology reminds me that I haven't been drinking enough water lately.
It's 3pm, and as far as I know the mail has not arrived yet. Usually it comes between 11 and 1... According to the internet, mail services are closed today in honor of the death of Gerald Ford. So I just ran out and got the 2 letters I had put in the mail, and I'll send them out tomorrow. One of which is
kellev's kippah.
I should probably get back to work, although I really don't want to. But I'm starting to feel pressured, so I might as well get things done.
