Can anyone guess what my title is referencing?

My books! Not the total of my thesis work, but just the 14 books that I took out of Van Pelt today and dragged back to my room (in addition to everything else in my backpack and knitting bag.)

Not fun. Well maybe a little fun. It was a good use of my archaeological super-strength. And I didn't have half as many books as W., who brought a small duffle-bag in which to carry them home. He had like 30ish. And one of them is a book by Dever that I could probably use, but it's a good thing he took it and not me, since I was probably close to my carrying capacity.

Your weight?

Considering that the human head weighs 10 lbs and a newborn baby weighs anywhere from like 8-12 (or more) lbs, if I weighed 17, that would be like beyond scary. And nearly impossible. In fact, I think that if I weighed anywhere under 90 it would be scary. 100 is probably the lowest healthy weight someone of my height can have.

Oh, your books.

I propose the use of a granny cart. You may borrow mine. Thankfully, I have a carrel, and thus have avoided the toting of such volumes of volumes thus far. I am somewhat worried about what I will do to bring them home over winter break, though . . .

I probably would have, had I realized I would be taking home that many sources. I had gone in there with the intention of finding a few journal articles for the Jewish Studies thesis. I found 2 sources. But then I also found this whole purity section and took all the books that looked relevant. And thus I had 17 lbs of bookage.

I think 14 books is a record for me.

And for break I would say prioritize. Would you be able to look at all the sources in 2.5 weeks?

If so, then maybe you could put a bunch in your suitcase. And yes, that would mean checking luggage. Or travel with someon else who has less luggage and can take some of your books.

Or develop archaeological super-strength. It's quite useful.

Prioritize and only bring home the ones that you need. :)
