I'm not surprised
Oct. 3rd, 2006 04:23 pmI got a response from the Hillel people. They said that the rule that you can't apply actually extends to anyone who has gone on a Hillel mission before, regardless of the year that they went. (They should really reword that FAQ in their website.)
So no cheap Israel trip for me, unless there was archaeological work going on in December and they needed experienced volunteers and were paying their airfare. Which probably will never happen.
*Sigh* If only I hadn't already used my cheap Israel trip opportunity. Then again, that pluralism trip was amazing, and it had a huge impact in me becoming frum (and even now I'm still way more observant than I was 1st semester freshman year.)
In other news, I stopped working on my thesis at 12:15 to go to lunch, and I was really tired even then, so I took a nice long nap. Even now I'm still pretty out of it. So I've given up for the day. At 6 Ami Mazar is giving a lecture at the museum, so I'm going to it.
