Last night the Dvar Torah at CJC was about one person's experiences in Israel this summer, and how people could help out, and how they could go to Israel.

He mentioned the ICC's Leading Up North Mission of which Hillel is a participating organization. It's 180$.

Here's the catch- In the FAQs, there's a question about if someone can go if they've gone on a different track of a Hillel Leadership mission, and the answer is if they went last year, they shouldn't apply.

However, the catch of the catch is that they didn't mention anything about people who went 2 or 3 years ago. I went on the pluralism mission in December of 2003.

So I e-mailed them and asked if I am elligible to go. Hopefully I'll hear back soon.

Other organizations are sending representatives as well, such as Koach, but I'm not sure if I could apply through any of those.

I really, really, really, really, really want to go to Israel this December. And yes, I do realize that I've just been. And that I'll probably be there next summer to excavate again. But I could put my archaeological super-strength and super waking up early talents to good use helping up north.

So I anxiously await their reply, though my guess is that it will not come until after YK. And I bet a lot of people want to go on that trip. Which means I probably don't have much of a chance.

Still, I'm hoping. I'm hoping for a lot of things this year.

I'm going to write a general friends-locked post about teshuva now.
