yay for
platypuses
Sep. 26th, 2006 01:11 amI just got back from
platypuses, and she was amazingly amazing as always and talked some sense into me. And really I just needed to be held.
I ended up breaking the fast at 5:30 on 2 chocolate chip cookies from hillel, but then didn't eat anything else for the next 3 hours. But eventually I heated up some deli-roll and I'm finally pareve again. So I can eat delicious chocolatey chocolate. (Though I do have pareve chocolate but it's not the same.
boroparkpyro, you can sympathize with my addiction to Swiss chocolate, right?) So I probably should have something a bit more substantial before going to sleep, though I'm tempted not to.
I still need to find a source for my thesis meeting tomorrow. I'm not that worried since I have until 4pm and I have nothing from 10:15 on. Even if I take an hour for lunch that's 5 hours to do work. But at the same time I'm a bit scared. I've done nothing for the Jewish Studies thesis. My bibliography is based on my anthro one plus whatever other sources I was told by Stern to read. But those were for my original thesis and not my new idea of looking at the non-orthodox movements. Where can I find sources? And where can I find a non-archaeological article on miqva'ot or niddah or something that's 6 or less printed pages? All of my "short" chapters are at least 10 pages, and most are closer to 30...
And it's supposed to be something that inspires me. My inspiration is all archaeological at this point.
Maybe I can copy something out of Neusner, but that has no modern day applications. Maybe there's something in some fo my anthologies...
And I took some pictures which I'll put up tomorrow morning. (Including
platypuses holding Edgar, with one really clear shot.) I wanted to test out the night mode, but I realized that pulling out a 275$ camera in West Philly late at night is not such a good idea. So no artistic shots of the highrises at night. Sorry, folks.
And
platypuses is jealous of my zoom. And thinks my camera is shiny (which it is). So I'm content with my choice.
And the extra battery arrived today. Huzzah!
