Shabbat was pretty uneventful. I didn't mash, so I actually got to be at meals.

I spent a lot of time learning my leining, since it was pretty long (3rd alyiah of Neztavim for mincha). I also did some GRE studying, my reading for historical archaeology, and some of the Mary Douglass stuff.

Nothing went wrong with se'udah shlisheet. Scary, isn't it?

So overall a pretty anti-social shabbat. I guess I just didn't feel like being around people. Or I wanted to get the reading done for Ben, since I'm meeting with him on Monday and want to impress him. (And the meeting would be more useful if I'm more prepared...)

And now shabbat is over, and I'm waiting for everyone to actually be doing something. I'm hungry! And my back hurts a lot.

Mash(ing) = being a mashgiach (kosher supervisor) for a kosher restaurant, or in this case the Penn Hillel dining hall. We have a bunch of student mashes, and a head mash who works every day from 7:30am-4pm. we cover from 4pm on and all of shabbat.

Yes and no. I mean if you get the chance to bring down food you can, but I never really got that chance.
