In the valley of ghosts
Jun. 25th, 2006 05:07 pmI walked today. I went to the old city and went to the Wohl Institute museum to see the mikvah ruins. I took a lot of pictures and notes and drawings.
Then I went to the kotel and davened shacharit.
Then I went to Pardes, which required a bit of walking. I took a very long cut through Hell* to get there. And part of the time I was on Emek R'faim and really wanted to get an ice cafe in Cafe Hillel, but I wanted to get to Pardes before Tova Leah left...
Except she was never there today.
But I stayed and got lunch, and went yarn shopping in the store underneath Pardes. I remembered them selling kippah yarn, but they do, in fact, sell real yarn as well. I spent way more than I should have, but oh well.
And I stayed for a class on Yehuda and Tamar. Whee!
And
masteraleph, your friend A. who goes to JTS is here now, and she made me a paper shirt. She also leined the seventh aliyah yesterday and did a marvelous job.
*the hebrew term for hell or the closest equivalent is "gehenna" or "gehinom" which literally means the valley of Hinom. Which is right between the Old City and Baka. So I walked through Hell today!
