Um, thanks?
Jan. 10th, 2008 01:42 amOn my way out from Widener library tonight, I had an unusual experience.
Background story: I've been coveting skirt-pants for a while. They're long flowy pants that kind of look like a skirt. The amount of skirt-likeness depends on the material and cut. When I was in Israel this time, I finally found a place that sold them (or rather N showed me the place). So I bought 4 pairs. Tonight I wore my turquoise ones.
Random student: I really like your outfit!
Female Security Guard: Yeah, the colors are amazing. All the turquoise!
Me: Um, thanks. I bought them in Israel.
FSG: Thank you for wearing them so we could see them.
WTF? I used to wear a skirt with sequins that attracted random compliments, and it was never a favorite of mine, since other skirts fit better. Now I have the skirt-pants, which I do like in their bright turquoiseness, which apparently also attract compliments. To be thanked for wearing them!
I guess I will wear them more often.
