In Israel

I made it to Israel in one piece. The flight was not the most pleasant I've been on, since it took us 3 hours from when we boarded to take off due to weather and long lines for runways. Also, the air circulation was horrible, and I felt pretty sick from lack of cool air and lack of water. But I'm finally off the flight.

Right now I'm in Tel Aviv, in the lobby of the Sheraton hotel. The Sheraton has free wireless in the lobby and paid wireless in the rooms. However, the outlet here doesn't seem to work so I will need to go upstairs at some point to recharge the lappy.

I have a huge craving for ice cafe¹ and I have to figure out where to find some. I'm going to walk around once I finish internetting and hand the lappy to Jon. Also, my stomach hurts from lack of food, but I had a granola bar in my backpack from who knows when, and now I'm eating it.

The sunset was really beautiful, but I didn't get pictures of it when it was red and huge, since I didn't bring my camera to the lobby. At some point I'll do a picture update of everything.

And I'm almost done with my shawl. Finally.



¹A drink which consists of blended ice coffee, kind of like a frappuchino, except way better. The worst ice cafe in Israel is still better than a coffee frappuchino, because coffee frappuchinos are way too bitter. And ice cafe is way cheaper (like I've found it for as low as 6 shekels, which would be $1.50

Double/triple birthday

Happy birthday, levana_b! And happy erev¹-birthday brokenwndw!

It's also dsKC's birthday tomorrow as well. That's a lot of birthdays on one day.

*Edit* It's also prezzey's birthday today. And moss_raven. Are you all Jesus? If so, can I have your autograph? And some wine?


¹Erev= night before, but in the Jewish calendar the day starts at evening, so thus your birthday would be starting at sunset. I suppose once could say "Happy birthday-eve" which works especially well considering it's also Christmas Eve, except that I like "erev" better. And this way I get a footnote. (I'm so overdoing them.)
