10 days

So it's been over 10 days since I went to Hadassah hospital to have my hand looked at. I'm done wearing the cast-thingy full time, though I'll put it on if I'm doing a lot of work and my hand starts to hurt.

I survived a round of pottery washing this morning, and I still managed to finish everything early, and I didn't have to wear the cast.

And I'm knitting again!!!

I brought out a kippah last night and was crocheting while a bunch of us archaeologists were all hanging out. And everyone was like "Wow. What's that? Are you knitting it?" Sometimes it's refreshing to have people admire your work. Though perhaps my desire to impress people causes me to show off. Though I'm just making the kippah I was commissioned to do. Right now I'm working on the Jerusalem one with the blues fading from light to dark and the city in gold around it- like [livejournal.com profile] kellev's, only smaller, and for someone else, so with a different Hebrew name in it. I'll sketch out a pattern for it eventually.

14. Terry Pratchett, Ian Stewart, and Jack Cohen - Science of the Discworld (Volume II- The Globe)

This one I actually liked better than the first. The science parts focus more on history and culture, and the creation of humans in terms of when and how did we become human? The one thing I didn't like about the book is that Stewart and Cohen seem to be pretty anti- religion. But still it was an enjoyable read, and when I get home I'm going to read the last volume, if I can find it.

15. Neil Gaiman- Neverwhere

This was an amazing book that I read in 2 days, mostly on the way home from Jerusalem. It's about a guy who accidentally ends up in the world of the London Underground. It's really well written and I like Gaiman's style a lot. I wish he at Pratchett would write another novel together like they did with Good Omens. Though alas, I doubt that will happen.
