jitw paper of doom
Dec. 5th, 2006 02:05 amThe JitW paper is proving impossible to write. Ben e-mailed me and asked if I had an argument. I asked "what's an argument? You mean that thing that I don't have in my thesis?" and went on to explain the many issues i'm having.
JitW is too tough to explain. there are so many intricate things that are fascinating to look at from an anthropological perspective
It's also hard to do the whole emic vs. etic thing. I'm very much in emic mode right now.
But I can't explain all of JitW in JitW terms. It's impossible.
I'm having trouble applying the anthropolgical theories we've been learning, especially since we're so anti-authoritarian at JitW.
I'm sure Ben is asleep by now if he didn't respond to the e-mail I sent at 12:35 am (or the ones at 1 and 1:15) his last e-mail was from 11:15ish, when I was off at starbucks, buying liquid sanity.
I think I'm going to have to give up for the night and get some sleep, so I don't die in class tomorrow. I'll try to explain things the best I can, and edit this thing for Thursday.
