Thesis ramblings

I was nice and let myself sleep in today after trying to wake up at 8 and failing miserably. So in the end I got up around 10.

I have all this stuff to do today, including my thesising work for Ben since I let it slide yesterday and today. That's the problem with 2 theses- you think you've done a lot of work for one, but really you were just working on the other, and you have to prioritize but work on both so as not to get too behind...Though mostly the stuff I'm doing for the JWST one is only the stuff I need for the seminar. The research and outlining and writing is all for the anthro one.

Maybe I can get a few logistical/e-mail things done and then I can go out to face the world of thesis!

Kabbalat Shabbatified

Wow, that was a pretty quick turnaround.

After talking to S.R. about wanting to do kabbalat shabbat and not being able to, I went home, quite in tears, since that's what hobbits do when they get all over-emotional and probably should have had a real dinner and are not at their best...

So when I went back to Hillel to pick up my sweatshirt, N.R., who is on the women's committee of kabbalat shabbatness, she said I could lead the next one. Score! (Though it isn't for another 6 or so weeks, but then again for the 2 weeks of that time where there are kabbalat shabbats, 1 is fall break [JitW] and the other I'll be in DC visiting moss_raven [and her adorable cat Mia!] again.)

Quote of the night:
superducky1 was talking about the PETA lady and how she compared the slaughter of chickens to the Holocaust, and how she thought that it was vain for people to want their own human children, etc.
levana_b: Wait, which PETA lady?
superducky1: The woman who founded PETA.
levana_b: Oh. I thought you meant the lady who sells pitas...

At which point superducky1 and I crack up.
