I went to see X3 with [livejournal.com profile] son_of_paladin tonight [don't worry, I'm not putting in any spoilers] and afterwards we ended up hanging out at his house.

I knew his mom was good friends with Katharina Galor, but it also turns out she knows [ie is like best friends with] Jody Magness, who was Galor's teacher. So she was like "just tell her that you're good friends with [livejournal.com profile] son_of_paladin and that I told you to talk to her."

Magness is a mikvah expert. An archaeological mikvah expert. And she also has worked on Qumran and would know where to get measurements.

And apparently Galor was at [livejournal.com profile] son_of_paladin's brother's graduation party last night.

So, [livejournal.com profile] son_of_paladin: your mom's a...cool person who knows every single archaeologist who ever existed! And do you know who I am?...I'm Juggernaut, bitch!

Does this mean Rachel will have 2 all-star theses? Only time will tell.

But I'm excited because now I get to e-mail Ben and tell him how special I am!

I went to Shaw's to buy puff pastry dough for my deli-roll. My deli-roll is currently in the oven.

It turns out that [livejournal.com profile] son_of_paladin works at this Shaw's and not the other one closer to his house. I went to his ine when I saw him.

I ended up buying a ton of fruit to make smoothies with, baby carrots, coffee milk, and some weight-watchers ice cream cone things, besides the dough. That's it.

And I realized that I really have taken control of my eating. I didn't buy any junk food, (weight watchers totally does not count, because of the miniscule amount of calories). I could have justified getting real ice cream by the fact that soon I will be digging and I'll be exercising all day every day. And it would have made sense.

And one could say that deli-roll is bad for me, but I like meat, and when I eat meat I find myself full afterwards, and then I don't go snacking on other foods.

And I like the feeling of being able to buy whatever [kosher] food I want, and know that I'm responsible enough to not overeat. Perhaps I've turned into a normal person, the kind that doesn't have to worry about dieting and just eats a healthy amount of good food.

I still have some things I will stay away from. Like macaroni and cheese. Which is in my house right now, but I don't buy it at school. I might run into trouble in Israel with all the kosher restaurants, (not now, but when I make aliyah) but a starving archaeologist is by definition starving, so I'll probably just make my own food...Who am I kidding? Well hopefully being an archaeologist will just give me enough exercise that I can still eat things like felafel.

And I never thought I would long for Israeli pizza until I stopped eating vegetarian food in trief restaurants, and kosher pizza is usually sub-par, but there's a place on emek r'faim called Pizza Meter that I love. I totally need to get to Emek Rfaim before I go digging. It's a hike from the beit shmuel, but that'll be good for me.

"When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout"

The quote on boys was by [livejournal.com profile] levana_b. No one even tried to guess it.

[livejournal.com profile] levana_b:1
[livejournal.com profile] nesheekah:1
[livejournal.com profile] ozaku_kangaroo:.5 because she supplied today's quote but it's said by a real person (not that you're not real, but you know what I mean)

So according to [livejournal.com profile] masteraleph, you people might not want to participate, but I have faith in my friends list.

I call it the "shadchan meme" [shadchan=matchmaker]. I'm not trying to find anyone a date. But I have quite a big friends list, not so big as say [livejournal.com profile] batshua's, but still quite formidable. And I know a lot of you in real life, and a lot you I feel like I could know you in real life, even though we've never met. And you're all an interesting group of people. And you're all so different from eachother.

So, it's time you all meet eachother.

The rules:

You give me your e-mail, [comments on this entry are screened] and I'll give you the e-mail and lj name of another participant, who is not on your friends list.

And I'll try for some questions that could be answered as personally or impersonally as you'd like. You can answer as many or as few as you'd like.

1. Tell them a little bit about yourself. Where you are in life, perhaps where you'd like to be, if you want to describe your journey...
2. Why did you start keeping an LJ?
3. How did you wander into my [[livejournal.com profile] sen_ichi_rei's] live journal?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Are cats secretly trying to take over the world?
6. Who was the most influential person in your life?
7. What is your take on religion?
8. Give them a cool quote.

And bonus question: How many liters are in a seah? No cheating by googling it.

And you can e-mail me all these answers, too, if you'd like, or put them on your LJ, since I, too, could get to know all of you better.

And of course, no one has to friend anyone afterwards, but hopefully you'll like talking to this cool person, and I will have made one more step to further world peace.

And if you read my lj but are not an lj user, comment if you want to be included anyways, and I'll figure out something.
