More on the long lost niggun

The recording I have [which is sung by a male, by the way] is actually up on the Jews in the Woods song-swap blog. Who knew?

Also I had e-mailed it to cynara_linnaea. Our e-mail convo went as follows.

cynara_linnaea:I know this tune. I use it on Rosh Hashanna for the day-specific psalms right after barchu.
Me: wow. so this entire time you knew it and I never knew! *facepalm*
cynara_linnaea:So did perseus_remus, who actually sent me a recording to match up the slightly faulty version I know, that has been sitting on my computer for the past year and a half...
Me:Gah!

And groovin_reuven also sent me a different recording of it. So if I had asked perseus_remus originally he could have identified it, but no one else would have known what I was talking about had I not found out the actual name of the song. I had too little knowledge to go on.

Well the important thing is that I have it now, and that I can use it, and that some people (whoever goes to CJC student led Rosh Hashana) know it.

And technology is supposed to make life easier

I had been planning on going to Celine's [in New York] this afternoon and staying until Thursday morning to see her show on Wednesday night. She called during Hellerstein's class to tell me that she was going to be in rehearsal all day and that I should come tomorrow. Which is fine by me since I do have work... But I only got this off my answering machine, and I couldn't call her back because she doesn't turn off/silence her phone during rehearsal, yet if it rings during rehearsal she'll get in trouble. Thus, every time the phone has rung I keep expecting Celine, only it's not her. It's everybody else in the world who I have[n't] been expecting to call. Maybe I'll give her a different ring so I know when it really is her calling.
