Shelby Knox

Last night, Celine, Clara, and I went to the international human rights film festival and saw

"The Education of Shelby Knox." It's a documentary about how this girl, Shelby Knox, who is a hardcore southern baptist raised by Republican parents, decides to fight for comprehensive sex-ed in her public school [where abstinece-only is taught. they have a 60% pregnancy rate among high school girls there!!!] So it's being shown tomorrow night on PBS at 10:00 pm EST. And it's really good. And yes, even though I'm an Orthodox Jew, I still can have hippie-liberal beliefs, and this isn't really so hippieish or so liberal.

So I'd encourage you all to watch it, or tape it, or both.
