I'm back at Penn.

1011 rocks. We have the coolest room ever! I still have to organize my foodstuffs and my books, but it's not urgent.

My classes rock, except for Geology [ow, the unintentional pun!] teaching Jewish texts is small, and the people in it are: Me, Raphi Levy, Yosef, Rebecca Moses, Jon Weiner, Livia, and Bethany!!!! It's Bethany and the OCP! I davened mincha during the 10 minute break. It was mad frum.

Binding of Isaac also has some interesting characters, including Jon Moses [mini Moses, though I doubt he would like being called that] and Daniel Schoenbrun and Shlomo. And Stern, our fearless teacher, also is awesome.

Ames 059 is Ames 059. As usual in Hebrew, I fell asleep on the 2nd day when we were doing some reading. It's way too hot in Williams. Ronit asked if I was paying attention, so at least she didn't think I was asleep. Ooops!

I also now will have a permanent mashing shift- thursdays from 4-6:15. That will give me a little bit of pocket change that I can use for buying things like yarn, and more yarn. Maybe I can save up for some sefarim. I was sefer hachinuch with Hebrew and English. It's 90$ or so, so I think I'll use my channukah present money from Grandma which I still haven't used to purchase it. If I new more Hebrew I'd also get a mishnah brurah and stuff. Maybe I need a good commentary on tanach.

On Thursday I had a chevruta with Orit. She says I need to study neviim [prophets] and Torah[5 books of Moses], since I haven't studied a lot of the obscure parshiot [anything in the last 3 books, minus the story of the spies, and bilam] or anything in prophets besides parts of Yehoshua, Shmuel, and I Kings. But I like practical stuff, like talmud, and halacha. if there's a pasook I don't know, I always look it up and read a bit before and after it to get a context. So I don't see why it's necessary. I mean, it's a good thing to do, but I'd rather study the harder stuff while I'm here. I can always take the summer to do stuff on my own.

I also had a ginormous meal yesterday [23 people] which was awesome. I felt bad that there were all these people I left out, but most, if not all of them, have been to previous meals of mine.

Last night was Shlomo's b-day, so we threw him a surprise party. Then we watched Donnie Darko, which hurt my brain. Then we stayed up and went crazy. We put on Ari's black hat, which made for hilarious pictures. I'll put them up, if I can figure how to make them show up in lj.

And today I baked cupcakes, they're in my common room. I also injured Avidan's wall by leaning against it too hard. It was so awesome! Though I feel guilty. Wait, no I don't! It's Penn's fault for having shoddy construction.
