In Meira Style
Nov. 24th, 2004 09:03 pmToday is Meira's birthday, so Yoni wanted to do something for her. He decided to have a party at midnight last night.
The plan was to have her make a Fresh Grocer run, and we'd hide behind the library and surprise her.
Then we'd have fun and games in a lounge somewhere in North.
Well a group of us assmebled [I was the first one there, so it was sketchy until Stu arrived]. After a while other people showed up, and then there was a whole group of us waiting. Two cops walked over and asked us what we were doing. We told them we were surprising our friend and asked them if they wanted to be in on it. They were like "sure!"
Meira came down with Yoni. The cops came up to her.
"Are you Meira."
"Yes..."
"Come with us."
And one fo them grabbed her arm and brought her around the corner.
SURPRISE!!!
Then there were games, which included bowling, Pin The Meira on Eretz Yisrael, and Goldfish pong. They got real goldfish! I was kinda pissed that Yoni and Jonathan would take innocent creatures and shorten their lives. they had been all together in a small bowl all day. Yoni said they were feeder fish, but still...
Phase 3 of the party involved lots of walking. We had no clue where Yoni was taking us. I speculated that we were going to a bar to get Meira drunk [she turned 21]. But it turns out we went down to the schukyll to play "pooh sticks."
So what you do is throw sticks down into the river and run across the street and see which one gets to the other side first. Of course, this was the Schukyll, so we didn't really need to run...
Afterwards Yoni went down to the riverbank and released the poor goldfish...who probably died as soon as they tried swimming in the Schukyll.
Then I hung out with Dassi, Avi Berkowitz, Avidan, Isaac, Meira, and whoever else was in the 4th floor lounge at 1:30 am. And I went to bed at 3.
