Shabbat started with a women's Kabbalat Shabbat service, led by Dassi. There wasn't as much snging and dancing as the last one, but it was still pretty fun.

After CJC ma'ariv, we went to Ari's meal. The food was good, but for some reason, we didn;t sing. Maybe beause some people left early for a speech, and the rest of us were tired. I wasn't tired, but everyone else was.

Even though it was before 12, I walked back wth Joey. Orit Seif, Rabbi Seif's wife [which I was about o spell "weif," oops!] asked if she could walk back with us, so we ended up walking her back to the Sheraton, which wasn't really out of the way. And we figured she shouldn't walk back alone.

On the way, like at the frat that's next to Hillel, there was this drunk guy who came running towards Orit and I who yelled "PUSSY!!!" which really started me. Luckily, Joey pushed him out of the way. This pissedoff the guy, who tried to beat up Joey. Now the thing is, though Joey is small, he probably would have won had the fight actually happened. Frat boy was holding a pillow, while Joey had an umbrella. And Joey had coordination on his side, since he doesn't drink. Fortunately, the drunk's (frat) brothers came over and held him back. We told one of them to get the guy inside. Of course, this guy was drunk, too, but at least he wasn't trying to harass us or anything.

If he had touched me, it would have been bad, but if he had touched Orit, it would have been infinitely worse. No one should EVER mess with a Rabbi's wife. Granted, drunk guys don't know or care the difference between shomer girls and non-shomer girls; between Rabbis wives and college girls; between teachers and whores; they treat all women the same way. Which is a kind of scary thought. My shomerness only protects me from what I can protect myself. It will only be respected if people want to respect it.

It kind of puts things in perspective, considering that normally I will walk home alone if it's before midnight, and I will walk through campus, because I figure that it's better lit and more patrolled by Penn police than is Walnut street. But if I had done that on Friday night...

So I was a bit shaken. I've recovered, hopefully wiser.

Saturday I woke up at 9:45ish, so I was late for shul. The we had CJC senior lunch, which was fun. Most of the seniors I had either never met, or had never seen at a CJC event. But they were all very nice and Zach had some very amusing stories about all of them.

After lunch I lay on a Hillel couch and decided I had sufficent time to go to my room and nap there, where I actually fell asleep. At 5:15 I decided it was worthwhile to get up. Finally, I started reading The Sabbath, a book which Rivka lent me. It's really good, though it took a while to get into (like 2 times restarting). It's only 100 pages long so I'm finishing it today and giving it to her tonight.

At shalshuddis, Raphi Cohen announced the new shalshuddis guy, Ari Levine! W00t! Ari Levine can sing! [So can Raphi, but this is Ari Levine!]

Before Ma'ariv, I ran out to give RJC the Havdallah set I had gotten them in Israel. After my havdallah, I couldn't find them. I went around asking everyone "have you seen RJC?" but *tear, no one had. Then I found them in the basement. They had been relocated.

After a brief stop at casino night, [since I had no money] I went back to Hill, figuring it would be an early night. Then I IMed Carina, who was going to Cosi's with Josh and Joey. Though I was already showered and in pajamas, I decided to join them. I beat them there. (And no, I did not go in pajamas. That would be un-tznius.)
