A POEM!!!! I Finally wrote a poem after a school year of not writingness! Huzzah

Song of Songs

As I walk barefooted through these hills we've passed before,

A breeze floats by and drops some petals on my hair.

Breathing the sweet-scented air gives me a sense of clarity that I have not found anywhere else.

Lines of green are painted across earth brown.

I don't have eyes enough to see it all!

A shadow is cast, and if I look at it in just the right angle,

It is almost as if you are walking alongside me.

I turn, and once again it is only a tree.

You are not here with me, however much I wish it were so.

So I will wrap this land you love in words of myrrh and rosemary,

Send it in a 1 shekel envelope

And hope it will one day pull you here to join me.

small comment - I think that you should change it to "one-shekel" - just a bit more formal
