Once upon a time, my life consisted of going to school coming home, doing homework, and sleeping. Gradually I started becoming more involved in things: dance, Odessy of the Mind, band, theatre, and voice lessons, though I was never involved in all of those at the same time. Homework started getting harder and more time-consuming. Yet I didn't need to resort to all-nighters until my senior year of high school.
Now, all that insanity seems like nothing compared to what has been happening this week.
So I, in my ultimate spazzyness, left my purse in Hillel after lunch, and didn't realize it until I was at the anthropology museum. So I had to bike all the way back, and miss my 1-2 class. I have a midterm next week.
Then, I had to deal with the fact that the OCP leadership wanted me to change women's kaballat shabbat again, to either a later week [like never] or back to this week. So after much insanity and crying on my part [as well as dinner-skipping] I changed it back. Which meant that Naomi can't lead it, and that I had to tell her that. And this late in the game, I'm actually justified in leading it myself (S1 asked if I wanted her to ask this A girl if she wanted to lead it, but she did it last time.) So I'm leading it myself.
This also meant talking to the gabbais and sefardi community [I took care of that] and talking to the brand new CJC gabbais, since having kabbalat shabbat this week would deprive them of the person who would have led their kabbalat shabbat. And I had to switch the rooms, which E [the new co-chair] did.
After than episode, I was still crazy, because I had to go costume shopping at the pac shop, to see what I could borrow there for free before shopping for stuff downtown today. There wasn't that much there, but I got some jackets and sweatervests. And I even got JM's help bringing the stuff back to Hillel.
Then I had a half hour to read the stories people wrote for my creative writing club. I'm actually now working on a piece, which makes me happy. But I'm having difficulty with all the historical details that i don't know about day-to-day life in Jerusalem, 69 CE.
I got to the highrise at 10:45, and after maariv, JM said he could walk me home after his meeting. I decided to search for dinner. 209 has their cafe, so I figured they'd have food during the week.
And lo and behold, they did! D made me macaroni and cheese. I also did some reading for Hellerstein.
So I got home at 12:30, went to bed at 1, woke up at 9, and was still exhausted. So I reset the alarm for 9:20, and managed to make myself late for Hellerstein's class, since we were listening to Yiddish music in the library, and the library is further away. And it was awkward, walking in late to a guest lecturer.
Later today I went costume shopping at salvation army [not to mention chocolate shopping at Godiva!] and my back is killing me, and someone in the cast owes me a back massage for all of my efforts.
Barry, the head Mash, saw me as I walked into Hillel and asked if I was the one who was supposed to be mashing. Um, yeah, like I would volunteer to do it on my day of costumage. But I took over, so he could go home and learn Torah, and I can make a little bit of money as I type this.
The show is in less than a week! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I'm not going to be human again until February 5th.
P.S. The dining hall has fries tonight. Huzzah!
