He won't let me update. But I will win this battle.

These pictures come from [livejournal.com profile] groovin_reuven. Mine will eventually be up.

So we start out with Raphi. Dassi's mom, being a Jewish mother, is fixing his corsage.

Then we have the guy's tisch. In it, the witnesses sign the ketubah, and make sure it is kosher. This didn't quite work at Dave & Beth's wedding, and they actually needed to re-do it.

Like I said before, they had some technical difficulties:

But Dassi decided to stand under the chuppah anyways

And she walked around him 7 timesImage hosted by Photobucket.com

And then [after a few more things] they were married!

Aren't they so cute?

The tables were quite pretty.

We set up some quite a display for when they entered the reception

Chuck got to live out his life-long dream of being Raphi

Raphi broke a wall in North and facilities had to fix it...

The guys wore my kippot. Whee!

Dassi got lost and we had to write a song about it.
[This is the only pic I'm in. look on the left side.]

Ari and Yosef did some karaoke

Raphi was quite stylish

Dassi has some really cool brothers. They're on a mission from G-d.

There was mixed dancing. It was quite assur.* :)

Some day Raphi will make a great dad.

And then we wrote a sitcom about the whole thing back at Bryna's place.

Raphi is 21, Dassi is 23. They're both seniors this year.

Your point being that 21 is not "so young?"
Because I *still* think he looks "so young," and hearing his age, I still feel like he is "so young."

well i'm 20, so i don't think of them as young because they are older than me.

I don't consider people one year older than me 'older than me,' and I don't think I did when I was 20, either. 20-21 seems like one tidy age bracket. As does 21-22-23. And that's only if you're being incredibly narrow in your definition of "who is my age." I think I started considereing people a year ahead or behind me 'my own age' around middle school. And as I've gotten older, it has expanded considerably. Currently, I consider my peers to be between 20 and 32 or so.

Anyway, this is quite off track by now. My point was just that he looks 19, he is 21, and I find that quite young to be getting married. (I also knew people married by that age. I also found them quite young. Even when they were a year or two older than me.)

i guess for me it goes by what year they are in. So Raphi and Dassi are the "same age" in my mind, which is still "older than me."

I'm sure when I'm 21 [in like less than 2 months] I won't feel that I'm as mature as Raphi and Dassi. In fact, I don't think even now I'm as mature as they/any other ocp now seniors were when they were sophomores. I don't feel 20. But they feel "older"

Mazal Tov! The photos are stunning. Wedding pics always make me want to go to a wedding.

And as far as them being 'young' goes, quite a few friends of mine got married when the girl was 20 or just 21, an the guy was 22. And another friend, who seriously should be getting engaged any week now, is 21, and he is 20. Depending on where you come from, it's really not such a big thing.

Congratulations to them!
I looks wonderful... I'm sure they will build an exemplary Jewish home!
Why did Rabbi Seif give them the thumbs-up for mixed dancing?

They weren't sure if they could dance together, but since they just got married, it was ok. That's what the thumbs-up was (Raphi looked at Rabbi Seif to see if it was ok, so Rabbi Seif said yes.) No one else mixed danced, and this was after everyone else was off the dance floor.
