Calm before the storm?
Apr. 14th, 2004 03:24 pmSo I spent the past 2 days computerless, and am still getting over that. I'm kind of screwed in terms of workload, and by "kind of" I mean "very."
I have a 10 page paper due at 12pm tomorrow.
I haven't started it yet, unless you count putting jewish history notes onto a disk so i could look at them from the luxury of Van Pelt Library.
Hopefully I'll be able to find the 2 books Kashani-Sabet reccommended to me so I can use them as sources, because although I am well versed in zionism [kinda...ok not really, that was something I was out sick for, but I got a 100 on that test...] I know absolutely nothing about Palestinian nationalism. It didn't really come about until 1948. And I can't have that as a thesis because Kashani-Sabet probably thinks differently...Maybe I'll say it came about between the 2nd and 3rd aliyot, like WWI-ish.
*That was an interesting bell that just rang in Hillel. I'm like "what the?..." Silly Hillel. Always so unpredictable*
Anyhow, I still have to read the sources. I suppose I can start with the 3 books I do have, since I have at least an hour until my knitting circle. Or I could nap...
At least now I can buy caffeine. I can drink caffeine syrup if I really get desperate, but I'd rather have bubble tea, or at least a javalanche from Mark's cafe. Can I use 200 dining dollars up in 2 weeks? that's like 100 dollars a week....divided by 6 [since I can't swipe on Shabbat...] that gives me... *googling up a calculator...* $16.67 a day!!!! like 5 smoothies! I can't possibly use that much...
I suppose I could use Uri Pasternak's famous ABP technique, buying gift certificates so I can get the extra cash back. I'm kinda lazy, though. I guess this means no bubble tea for a while.
Or I can get a s**tload of caffeine tonight as I lock myself into Van Pelt ["Van-Pelting," I call it]. If I get it all before they run out of ice, I can drink through it and make it last at least an hour or 2...
Gwen is helping me in my quest. She says I can buy advil, shampoo and cute tissue boxes.
Anyone want me to take them out for coffee?
