Dear Fictional Holiday gift-giving entity, This year I've been busy! In June I pressed all the buttons on the elevator in HRN (-6 points). Last Thursday I donated bone marrow to kressel in a life-saving procedure (300 points). In March I set yaldat_chayil's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last month I had a shoot-out with rival gang lords on the 5 near LA (-76 points). Last Saturday I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Overall, I've been nice (171 points). Wow! A bone marrow transplant? You remind me of something serious. There's a girl in the neighborhood who needs a kidney transplant, and I'm supposed to write an appeal about it. And to think, I've been wasting my time with NaNo.

My dad actually did give a bone-marrow transplant this past year. There had been a drive a few years ago to find a potential match for someone. That never worked out, but my dad was on file, and so when this boy needed the transplant, my dad was a match for him.

I think it would be a good thing for me to do at some point, especially since I can't donate blood since my circulation sucks.

A kidney, on the other hand, is something I wouldn't want to donate unless it was a close friend or relative who needed it. But I doubt that random people just go around and say "sure, you can have an extra kidney!" Though in Iraq [maybe Iran] people are selling their kidneys for transplants, and it's easy to get one there, but not so ethical.
