You are Form 9, Vampire: The Undying.

"And The Vampire was all that remained on
the blood drowned creation. She attempted to
regrow life from the dead. But as she was
about to give the breath of life, she was
consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the
cycle began again."

Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek)
and Isis (Egyptian).
The Vampire is associated with the concept of
death, the number 9, and the element of fire.
Her sign is the eclipsed moon.

As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic
individual. You may be a little idealistic,
but you are very grounded and down to earth.
You realize that not everything lasts, but you
savor every minute of the good times. While
you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you
have strong ties with people that will never be
broken. Vampires are the best friends to have
because they are sensible.

friends to have because they don't always take
things for face value.

You are Form 3, Unicorn: The Innocent.

"And The Unicorn knew she wasn't meant to
go into the Dark Wood. Disregarding the advice
given to her by the spirits, Unicorn went

misdeed, the world knew evil."

Some examples of the Unicorn Form are Eve
(Christian) and Pandora (Greek).
The Unicorn is associated with the concept of
innocence, the number 3, and the element of
water.
Her sign is the twilight sun.

As a member of Form 3, you are a curious
individual. You are drawn to new things and
become fascinated with ideas you've never come
in contact with before. Some people may say
you are too nosey, but it's only because you
like getting to the bottom of things and
solving them. Unicorns are the best friends to
have because they are inquisitive.

I wondered if you have ever heard of the magazine for Jewish college students called "New Voices?" [livejournal.com profile] chavalah, a member of my flist, posted here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/chavalah/93520.html?view=147792#t147792) about how they are accepting submissions. It doesn't appear to be a strictly Orthodox magazine, so I daresay they could use a bit of a frum perspective. The teshuva phenonmeon on college campuses is a big movement and ought to be covered, and you may be just the one to do it.

The entry is friends only, so I can't see her post about it. I haven't heard of the magazine. What kind of angle would they be looking for with the "teshuva phenomenon"? As in would they want firsthand exeriences, or interviews with baalei teshuva or talking to Orthodox rabbis on campus or something else entirely?

I could probably write something. Though the thing is most of my friends who are BT became so before they came to Penn. [Though one was partially through doing summer programs at Penn while in high school and meeting all the grad students. Maybe I could talk to my friend Adam about that. He'd be fun to interview.] There are also some parents of current Penn students who became frum at Penn. I could look for people. Or write about me. Or my cousin, who became frum at UCLA.

Is there a deadline?

I didn't realize it was friends-only. I think the magazine website is newvoices.org. You can read their writers' guidelines there. It's enough to make me wish I were still a college student.

In any case, the teshuva angle was my idea. It's what I'd write about if they'd accept me (I'm not a college student or recent grad, so I don't qualify). I'd say write about whatever compels you. I might just post the info at [livejournal.com profile] mitzvahjourneys to see if people there are interested, too.
