The saga continued
Apr. 4th, 2004 04:12 amThe conversation mentioned in the previous post ended with Han talking about a battle in his mind, and basically by Tomorrow [Friday], he would be back to his robotic self, and he wouldn't feel.
So I wasn't about to let that happen. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything else I could do at that point.
My instinct was to include Han in the personal healing prayer we say in the silent amidah. The only problem was that I had already davened 3 times in one day, so the next time I would be davening would be tomorrow, which would be too late.
So I was online talking to Shlomo, and asked what I should do if I had a healing prayer that could not wait until tomorrow. He asked me to explain further, which I felt uncomfortable doing on AIM on a hillel computer, so I asked if I could come over. He said yes.
I explained the situation to him, using pronouns and not Star Wars names. Of course, he had no clue what to do, but we ended up talking about a lot of things, including why he's always so quiet [which gets me self conscious since I always think I'm talking too much.] Even when Shlomo does talk, he speaks quietly, which is a shame, because he really does have good things to say. He doesn't think that's always the case. But he's really nice, and doesn't give himself enough credit.
We also talked a lot about religion and stuff, specifically dealing with becoming Orthodox. There were some other things, too, but they were so random that I can't really remember anymore. Rendsberg stopped by, though, and wrote in ancient Hebrew. Rendsberg rocks.
At 1 I realized it was 1, and went home. I had been there for 2.5 hours.
Talking to Shlomo made me feel a lot better, and made him feel a lot more short of time to study Physics. I feel bad. I hope he did ok on his midterm.
Han IMed me when I got in, and around 1:50 he just stopped. I was really worried. His phone was off as well. I tried calling Josh, and Luke, and Leah was asleep. [Luke thought he would be fine, and I was crying. I didn't believe him, and didn't understand how he could be calm.] No one could find Han. So at 1:55 am I ran to his dorm and made it is just as they were locking up. He was sitting across the hall with his friends. He had forgotten to put up an away
I felt like an idiot, and a tired idiot at that. But at least I was a relieved idiot.
I went to bed at 3 and woke up at 8 for minyan.
