my crazy life
Mar. 26th, 2004 11:47 amWow. A week without updating! I must correct this immediately.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Monday: My alarm was set for 8am, but I woke up at 7:30. I decided that since I wasn't going to go back to sleep I might as well go to minyan.
Afterwards they serve breakfast for a dollar. Yay for food!
I had classes as usual, and after dinner [our last meat meal for a while] I visited Gwen-ness and knitted with her. At 9 she wanted to go to the gym, so I went over to North with Livia. Livia had to use the computer lab [her computer was broken] and Yosef was there, so I chillel with him for a while. Then he kicked me out because he had just told everyone else to stop talking so people could study.
I thought I was gonna do my paper, but that kind of didn't happen.
Tuesday:
Since it was Rosh Chodesh and they were having more food, better food for breakfast, I decided to go minyaning again. It was worth it. They had Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
We had a hebrew quiz which I still have not gotten back.
That night, I decided to go to the library and basically lock myself in until I finished my paper. Joey helped me tremendously. I dind't completely finish that night, but it was long enough at least. It just needed an intro and the rest of the conclusion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wednesday: no minyan because I was finishing my paper before social psych.
Recitation for women and religion was cancelled since we had to visit places of worship. Jason, my TA, is letting me write about the women's kabbalat shabbat, and also, I had already visited a church. So I just got free time. I hung out in Hillel all afternoon, and we had knitting.
I was on a high from having finished the paper, so I figured I'd do more work. That never happened, but I did meet Julie for coffee in mark's cafe. Beforehand, I was sitting in a comfy chair and took a 10 minute nap. Those chairs are really easy to fall asleep in.
~~~~~~~~
Thursday: I started the day with a CJC minyan. Afterwards I had Hebrew and Middle East in the 20th Century. Kashani-Sabet accepted my late paper, and is not going to take points off for the lateness of it [lucky thing #1].In the afternoon, I decided to do laundry and finally pack up my extra clothes to send home. I went to bubble house to get a box, and they gave me a free bubble tea [lucky thing #2]. The packing and laundrying and putting away of clothes took a while, but I got to Hillel in time for mincha/maariv [first time I've prayed 3 times in a day that was not shabbat].
I checked my e-mail after dinner, and hebrew was cancelled for tomorrow, making the test on Tuesday and not Monday [lucky things #3 and 4].
I watched a movie with Rendsberg, Atara, and Batya. Afterwards I mishmared.
I wonder if my good luck came from all my davening...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today: I went to minyan and was confused by the lack of torah service, until I realized "oh wait, it's friday" [since tuesday was rosh chodesh, we also read torah then and i wasn;t there wednesday]
I had social psych and now I have no hebrew. w00t.
Gotta finish my d'var now.
