Shabbat was interesting. I started by going to an all women's kabbalat shabbat service. It rocked, because we could all sing as loud as we wanted and dance and we were on key!

Then I went to OCP ma'ariv. Afterwards was the RJC Mystery dinner, which I helped arrange. Everything was all set so I didn't have to break shabbat. However, during the dinner, we had to guess who the murderer was, so pens and paper were passed around. I didn't write, but technically, I'm not even supposed to pass these pens and paper. But if I didn't, I would be forcing someone else to. I ended up just passing them, and feeling a bit annoyed that there wasn't anything I could do about it.

I was not the murderer.

After dinner I stopped by the CJC oneg. I met this guy Aaron who was visiting Aaron Lawee [gotta love the names]. It turns out that he started out Reform and now davens Orthodox and is having the same sort of religious identity crisis that I'm experiencing.

After that was a speaker, and after that I visited Maurene. Of course, Sean was there. I ended up being fine, though of course I got a little bit annoyed when Maurene was like "so how's________" [the guy I like]. And I was like "umm..." Yeah. Gonna answer that one right in front of Sean. Sean must think I'm crazy to have gone this religious in such a short period of time. Last time he saw me I was in my leopardy dress, and now I'm tznius. Just wait till I'm shomer!

I went back to my room, armed with a sleep mask, and started learning my parsha. When the lines started running together, I knew that it was time for bed. [This is where the sleep mask comes in. Becky left the light on]

I woke up at 6:30 am because I'm still on crazy Israel time. It's quite annoying, but it was tolerable yesterday because it turns out I had started learning the wrong lines. I thought I was on chapter 37, but it turns out I was looking at chapter 36. I then learned the right parsha and went to services.

For some reason, I felt a bit odd at CJC services. I wonder if it's because I've been away for 2 weeks [then again so was everyone] and have been going to OCP minyanim in the mean time.

Lunch was uneventful, and afterwards I did some highrising and some napping. I went to OCP for mincha and ma'ariv.

For some reason, the singing during se'udah slisheet really moved me, There was this one song, that for some reason was really powerful. It was probably the tune.

After havdallah I sang with some of the OCP people. Before this, Rachel Rosenthal of CJC asked me if I had gotten her E-mail. I said no, since i had stopped checking my e-mail pretty early Friday afternoon. Turns out she wants me to write a D'var for CJC. I said I'd do it. When I read the actual E-mail, it said "I know that you usually go to RJC on Friday nights but since
you've been coming to CJC on Saturdays, I thought this would be a nice chance for the Friday night crowd to get to know you also." Hehe. If she only knew...

Then I retrieved my phone from Molly [well it was Alana who came down and gave it to me because Molly is sick] and then I eventually went Gwen-ing. A few minutes after I came in, Josh showed up with Cherry Street Chinese food. We chilled, then me, Brett, Barry, Ari, Josh, Ariela, Joey, and Stephanie all watched "My Big Fat Greek !Wedding." Afterwards I visited Gwen. We stayed up till 2am talking, and I slept on her floor, which wasn't as uncomfortable as I had anticipated.
