This time I actually finished the paper...
May. 9th, 2005 07:56 pmIt's all edited and everything. I sent it to Shlomo, who should print it out for me and put it in Stern's box tomorrow. That way, I don't have to pay to fed-ex it.
So that update thing...
The second days with the grads were fun. I stayed at Ilana Cowen's apartment, since it was a lot closer to everything than Samson Place was. I did a lot of napping, and reading, and ate way more than I should have, because the food was really good. Afterwards I stayed to help Ilana clean up.
When I came back to my room, I realized that I had left my keys in the apartment [I was going to take my backpack and then didn't.] The front desk didn't seem to have a lockout key for me, so I flipped out a little. Not to the people trying to help me, but to Dredze, who I called on my cell. After 2 days of yontuv, all I wanted was a shower and clean clothes, and I was going crazy without them. Maybe I could go back to the highrise and shower there, but I had worn all my outfits at least twice, so I really did need to get into my room. Eventually they found a key that worked, and I got in and went to bed.
Monday and Tuesday were spent doing work for Ruth's class. I watched a movie with Michael and Tova on Monday night [we rented. I rent during the Omer but I don't go to the movie theatre]. I was too tired to go back to my room when it ended at 1am [I had gone to the gym beforehand with Shalhevet] so I slept on 308's couch. I also hung out with Tova on Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday I had my very last Teaching Jewish Texts class, which was sad because Ruth isn't coming back next year. Hopefully I'll get to hang out with her this summer. I showed her the beginning pf the kippah-ish headthing I'm making for her, and she liked it a lot. So I'm going to try and finish it soon.
Wednesday night I worked on my paper. I ended up finishing 5 pages before I went to bed at 1am, and I decided that I was going to hand it in late, rather than stay up all night to finish it. And boy did I hand it in late.
Thursday was not so fun. More papering. I locked myself into the library. And after lunch I worked in Hillel. And I even worked on it when I was mashing. I never bring my laptop to mashing. I must have been insane. But no one minded. I "finished" 15 minutes before my shift was over.
On my way out of Hillel I encountered a barbeque [we had 5 in 3 days...] for the advanced gemara shiur. But everyone said I could have some food, and I wwasn't teh only one who wasn't in the shuir there. Besides, I am in gemara shiur- the beginning level. So I ate and then went back to my room.
My dad came at about 8. I didn't have anything in the apartment foodwise so he went to find something. There are no kosher restaurants nearby, so he went to a non-kosher restaurant and I went to hang out in the highrise in Meira's room. I was really upset about leaving.
I got a dryer picture, though [that is, a picture of me in the dryer! I'll post it when I get a chance] and Jon Moses recorded a message for my answering machine. Try calling me (401)474-1665. It's really amusing!
I went to bed pretty early [12!] and got up for services the next morning. I tried to visit Meira after breakfast, but alas, her door was locked. I wanted to give her a book. Maybe I'll remember and give it to her if I get to see her.
Then we packed up and drove home. I did a little driving, but it was hard, since I couldn't see out the rear-view mirror. We got in at 5. Shabbat started at 7:30 but the family I was staying with, the Yavners, wanted to take it in at 6.
I quickly showered and changed, and got there at around 6:20. Mrs. Yavner hadn't taken in Shabbat yet, which was good. Yay for not-so-lateness.
Shabbat was relaxing. Then yesterday we went to Brookline for mother's day and ate at Ta'am China.
And today I went to work. And finished my paper. Huzzah!
