theyellowhobbitSo I just got a new laptop, and it was delivered about 3 hours before shabbas. I had to mash, and tonight I was hanging out with Avidan, Joseph, Tova, Sharon, Michael, Ari G., Isaac [for some time] and some of Ari's out of town friends. So no quality time with my laptop...
But now I've added microsoft office, and set up as a backdrop the kotel at night. I might change it. I like my old Ranma theme I had on my old computer. But I haven't watched anime in forever. And I like the Kotel. Granted, I don't feel anything special davening there, but I guess it symbolizes an ideal of holiness that I should be striving for.
So last night I had Shabbas dinner with Mark Dredze and his roommate Andrew. We had challah, and cheese, and hummous, and for dessert there was frosting [then there was real dessert of cookies, but I had filled up on the frosting].
We learned a lot of Torah, and I learned a lot about Andrew, and why he became frum and stuff. He's really cool. And he does calligraphy. I'm going to see if my parents can send up my Sofer book, so he can borrow it.
For some reason we got on the topic of hair color, and Mark didn't believe me that I used to have unnaturally colored hair. He said there are some people he could never imagine as being anything other than frum, and some people who are FFBs who he thinks if they weren't frum they would have this wild streak. So apparently he can't imagine me as anything other than frum. Which made me so happy, because before I was having all those issues about not feeling frum. I mean I still don't feel frum [irregardless of the fact that most of the people I hang out with are Orthodox] but it's bothering me less. So to Mark I'm a shomer girl.
He actually meant it as an insult, so Andrew gave me a pillow to throw at him.
I actually was an idiot in many ways this weekend. Like for one, I forgot to wear my room key, so if Shalhevet hadn't been awake, I would have been locked out of my room. And I didn't wear leggings Friday night, so walking to and from Mark's place was insanely painful. My legs were numb.
