this is my first frum channukah, and also my first channukah away from my family completely [channukah started the first night of break last year, so i was with them for most of it, till i went to israel]
so it kinda feels like all the other jewish holidays. you add stuff to davening [in modim in the amidah, and also you say hallel and read torah] you add stuff to birkat hamazon, you light candles, and you eat. it's lost a lot of it's specialness, considering i celebrateother holdiays a lot more fully now. and i'm not getting any big presents since i already got my watch from my parents, and most of my friends aren't doing all-out channukah. julie gave me a purse and andrea gave me nice soaps, but no big family presentness
so channukah is a downer this year. i have to go downstairs and light soon. at least there are tons of channukiot in the lobby of north. how to tell we've invaded the place.
and i don't even have time to bake latkes. i'll do that at grandma's house after channukah.
